Underscoring efforts to promote the 1-800-GET-LIMO National Chauffeured Transportation Network to business travelers and other chauffeured transportation passengers, 1-800-GET-LIMO recently unveiled two new iPhone apps. With mobile devices such as the iPhone becoming ever more central to the lives of passengers, even replacing the laptop as the computing tool of choice for many corporate and leisure travelers, the new “GetLimo” apps put the 1-800-GET-LIMO National Chauffeured Transportation Network in the hands, literally, of iPhone users.

“The new GetLimo apps are part of our overall effort to reach this key demographic, the business traveler,” said Mark Adkins, president of 1-800-GET-LIMO. “These GetLimo apps means that our network affiliates are now promoting their businesses through this popular new medium, the iPhone.”

The GetLimo apps utilize the iPhone user’s GPS coordinates to locate his or her position on a map, then displays nearby 1-800-GET-LIMO® National Chauffeured Transportation Network affiliates. Users can quickly zoom in or out to find luxury transportation providers throughout the country, or simply choose a different location from a drop-down menu of cities. With one click, the iPhone user can request a quote or call for a reservation.

Available for free at the Apple® iTunes store, the new GetLimo apps are designed to give corporate travelers a reservation tool that is “platform neutral,” working whether the passenger prefers to call, to go online, or to click on an iPhone app.

There are no per order fees or commissions for quotes or calls through the new iPhone app, neither to the passenger nor to the transportation company, in keeping with the underlying 1-800-GET-LIMO® business model.
